DIM - Episode 37: Kelly Page (Maverick Academic)
MAVERICK ACADEMIC - KELLY PAGE
Assistant Professor at Columbia College Chicago and Co-Author at Oxford University Press
Kelly Page is an editorial board member of the online journal Technoculture -- something she is extremely qualified for, having received her PhD in web knowledge in 2003. Her research and writing has been published in numerous peer-review publications including: International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, International Journal of Retailing & Distribution Management, and the Journal of Consumer Behaviour.
Kelly returns to the studio to talk to Jims Jacoby and Cohen about something truly bizarre: open-source, mind-controlled computing.
Jim and Jim are regularly sought after for keynotes, lectures, and for custom consulting. If either of those are of interest choose a next step below.
It's called OpenBCI, and it's "Arduino-powered BCI that allows anyone with a laptop to access their brainwaves." We imagine it could lead to a world where musicians, athletes, or anyone of great skill can automatically "turn on" "being in the zone." It being open source is its key to it being, potentially, anything. Are we ready?
